Rock Chip Repair
I never heard of repairing a damaged windshield on a vehicle...How is it done?
The Glass Medic repair system uses patented equipment that has been used effectively for over 10 years. A resin is injected into the damaged area, then properly cured.

it work on different kinds of windshield damage?
The Glass Medic system repairs common "bull's eye" and "half moon" fractures, and many others such as "bee's wing," "clover leaf," and "star" breaks, even some cracks.
If not repaired, can small damaged areas become larger?
Yes, because the windshield is subject to twists and jolts -- most damage will spread unless repaired.
Will a Glass Medic repair pass state inspection?
Yes -- guaranteed by the Glass Medic Shop.
What assurance do I have that the repair will last?
The repair itself is guaranteed by the Glass Medic dealer.
Does it work on tinted glass?
Yes.
How long does it take to repair a windshield?
Usually less than half an hour.
Do I have to bring my car to the glass shop for repair?
In many cases, no -- it can be done where your car is, at home or at work.
Will the windshield be removed during the repair?
No.
What is the difference in cost between windshield repair and windshield replacement?
The exact amount depends on the type of windshield and the damage it has, but most repairs cost no more than 25% of replacement cost.
Will my auto insurance company approve of a Glass Medic repair instead of replacement?
Any savings on an auto-repair job that completely satisfies the customer is endorsed by insurance companies. It helps to keep claim costs down, and that helps to keep your insurance premiums at the lowest possible level. In recent years, many insurance companies have been insisting that windshields with repairable damage be repaired, not replaced. Usually they'll pay the entire repair cost, and you don't even have to pay the deductible.
What if I don't have comprehensive insurance coverage, or I choose not to notify my company of windshield damage?
Regardless of who pays, glass repair usually cost 75% less than replacing the glass.

Danny's is a full-service glass shop, and we offer guaranteed glass-replacement service, too.
Can glass other than windshields be repaired?

Auto Glass Safety
How can I be sure you will do the job right?
Danny's knows the pitfalls of a faulty installation. We know that your windshield needs to stay in your car if you have a collision. Our professional auto glass technicians will repair your automobile to factory specifications or better. This will prevent your new windshield from breaking free of its bond and will provide the needed support to your roof. This will help keep the contents of the vehicle inside and prevent the roof from caving in on the passengers.
Can I drive the car right away?
No. This goes for all reputable auto glass replacement companies. There is no adhesive available that allows you drive away the moment the installation is finished. The cure time for your windshield or back glass can be anywhere between one hour and a day - depending on the weather and type of urethane used.
How do I know your installers are qualified?
Our auto glass installation experts understand the ins and outs of auto glass replacement. They are familiar with the proper tools and methods of removal, preparation of the pinch weld, and the different adhesives available that will provide the strength to hold the windshield in your automobile. They also understand the proper methods to prevent leakage and/or rust around the pinch weld where the windshield will bond to the vehicle. Some of our installers have as much as 20 years of experience and have installed thousands of windshields. You can rest assured that your new windshield will be properly installed and your automobile will be restored to the factory specifications or better.
Will your installer clean up the broken glass?
Absolutely! Don't touch that glass and risk getting cut. We'll vacuum up all your broken glass when we arrive to do the job.
Why are windshields considered part of the safety equipment on vehicles?
Today's engineers use the windshield to help support the roof in case of a rollover. And the adhesive system is meant to keep the windshield from being ejected from your vehicle. Also, if you have a passenger side airbag, the windshield is what supports the airbag when it deploys, so the windshield must stay in place for the airbag to be effective.
Will my new windshield leak?
A properly installed replacement windshield should be as good as new. Installation should not damage you car in any way. Danny's uses only the highest quality adhesives and always properly prepares the surface.
Will I have to get all new city, inspection, and military decals?
Frequently, Danny's can transfer decals from your current windshield onto the new one. So you don't need to worry about replacing them.
What is safety glass?
There are two types of safety glass used in passenger vehicles. Laminated glass is used in the windshield. It is made up of two layers of glass laminated to a sheet of vinyl in the middle. This holds the glass in place in case of breakage. Tempered glass is used for the other glass in your vehicle. This glass has been heated almost to the point of melting and then is quenched with air at a specific rate to cause the tempering effect. This process also strengthens the glass. When tempered glass breaks, it brakes into tiny pieces.
Insurance Tips
Will my insurance rates go up if I put in a claim?
It depends on how your glass broke. Most customers have their glass break from a rock off the road, vandalism, or other unknown reasons. If this is the case, your claim would fall under the comprehensive portion of your insurance - which doesn't raise your rates.
Do you bill the insurance company directly?
We bill all insurance companies directly. You don't have to worry about temporarily footing the bill.
If my car is vandalized, does my insurance cover it?
Yes, but only if you have full coverage on your car. Your insurance company will cover your vandalism loss (minus the cost of your deductible). Vandalism claims fall under comprehensive coverage, not collision coverage. A vandalism claim is not considered your fault and will not raise your rates.
If my car is vandalized do I need to call the police and file a report in order to put in an insurance claim?
No, insurance companies take your word on vandalism claims and don't require a police report or a visual inspection.
Do I need my insurance adjuster come out and look at my car before you can fix it?
No. Insurance companies don't require an adjustor for claims involving glass. We are networked with all insurance companies and can help you handle the processing of your claim. Once your job is done, your insurance company will pay us a rate that they set - no adjuster needed.
How does my insurance deductible work?
Your insurance deductible is the portion of the payment that you are responsible for. When your job is completed, you pay your deductible to the repair shop - and your insurance company pays the remainder of the bill. Most people have a lower comprehensive deductible than they realize and are able to save money by having us file a claim for them.
How does my deductible work if my window is broken and my CD player is stolen?
You only have to pay your deductible once - to whoever provides the first service. You are only responsible for your deductible once per incident, and that's all you'll have to pay no matter how much damage was done to your vehicle.
How much do you charge my insurance company?
Each insurance company works with us on a regular basis to set fair and reasonable rates. We charge all insurance companies a rate that they have individually negotiated with the glass industry.
